Emile and the Café on the Corner
A series of sequential illustrations in 10 framed scenes exposed at Mabel Coffee shop (Ballard, Seattle)
While on a bike ride with his beloved dog, Bernard, Emile’s attention is caught by the warm light and smell of a local coffee shop. Emile decides to stop, enters the coffee shop and while he is waiting in line, Bernard starts to wander between the tables discovering the place and hoping for potential crumbs to fall. When the time comes for Emile to order his favorite pastry, a scone of course, Bernard seems to already feel at home.
Maybe a little too much at home…
After a first exhibit at the bike-repair cafe Chouquette & Bicyclette in Nantes, France I am excited to present Emile and the Café on the Corner at Mabel (Ballard, Seattle) and celebrate local coffee shops, the wonderful people who serve everyday with passion, and honor the sister city relationship between Seattle and Nantes!
You will be able to purchase large prints, cards and accordion comics on the Mabel Maker’s shelf, which I will be sharing with other pasionate local artists and makers!
